What really matters to you?

If there’s one good thing to come out of this pandemic, it’s realising what and who is really important. The doctors and nurses, bin collectors, teachers, delivery drivers, police - those are the people who keep our country running in a time of crisis. And when it comes to what really matters to us, well this has shown our health has to come top of the list.

So often we get hung up on the way we look, whether for a wedding, a holiday or just day to day. And that becomes the driving force behind yet another ill-fated diet or exercise regime. Well we can safely say that for the time being, it could not matter less how you look sitting on the sofa binge watching Tiger King! And hopefully, that gives you space to reevaluate what is truly important - how you feel.

So move daily not to lose weight but to keep your heart and lungs healthy and clear your mind. Train at home to get stronger and keep your energy levels high rather than to get toned. Make sleep a priority because that’s the best way to boost your immune system. Nourish your body with a healthy, balanced diet to make sure everything is working optimally. And check in with your friends and family regularly - it’s amazing what a bit of online socialising can do for the soul.

Do all of those things, and you’ll come through this calmer, stronger and healthier - both physically and mentally.

Now is the time to realise what really matters, and the true challenge? Will be keeping that in mind when this is all over.

Keep going - you can do this 💪🏻
